Office Manager Assistant (Half Time)

Overview

As an Office Manager at Lyric you will work with the CEO, employees, consultants and outside resource firms to keep our company running smoothly and growing quickly. Lyric offers some flexibility for hours, the ability to work remotely as needed, and a very positive work environment.

Job Responsibilities

In this responsible position you will assist with most of our Accounting and Human Resource duties. You will manage electronic and paper correspondence to support periodic check runs and pay periods. As the Office Manager Assistant you will make travel arrangements, keep the office running smoothly, assist employees with administrative requests, and maintain well organized company files. We also expect you to work proactively and with the IT manager to internally promote office-wide calendaring and other electronic resources to increase employee and office productivity. As the company grows, you may have opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (completed or in progress) with excellent GPA and at least one year of office experience
• Upbeat, “can do” approach to challenges
• Commitment to work in the Cambridge office 3 to 4 partial days per week as needed

Desired Competencies

• QuickBooks and Microsoft Office software including strong Word and Excel skills
• Ability to implement electronic office productivity improvements
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong demonstrated organization skills
• Experience working in a start-up environment a plus
• Experience with QuickBooks Accounting and HR functions a plus
• US citizenship or Visa

We are now seeking exceptional talent to take us to the next level as we work hard to make a little history and build a great company.

As a Test & Measurement Engineer at Lyric you will work closely with highly experienced Lyric's Design Engineers to help test and qualify a new paradigm in computation.

Job Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to help with bench testing and simulation. You will:

• Setup test and measurement instrumentation
• Design test boards and eval boards for IC’s
• Automate and run experiments on large numbers of IC's
• Help debug IC’s and test setup
• Run lab, order equipment and supplies

Minimum Qualifications

• BSEE +5 years of mixed-signal IC test
• Experience with C/C++, Matlab/Simulink/Mex, Labview, Java
• Familiarity with digital timing diagrams
• Familiarity with analog hardware
• Ability to follow specs and achieve high performance requirements
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Solid problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
• Enjoy tinkering, taking things apart, and making things work
• Ability to ask good questions

• Experience working in a start-up environment
• US citizenship or Visa

As a Research Scientist at Lyric you will work closely with the CTO and other Lyric scientists and engineers.

Job Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to innovate, patent, and publish research relating to signal processing, optimization, statistical inference, communications, robust control, numerical methods, abstract algebra, and statistical physics.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Math, Applied Math or EECS
• Journal quality publications
• Deep understanding and research experience in applied mathematics including signal processing, optimization, statistical inference, communications, numerical methods, abstract algebra, and robust control
• Strength in CS including compiler design, language design, randomized algorithms, data structures
• Ability and desire to write code and run simulations to test hypotheses
• Comfort with Java, C++, Python, MATLAB, SPICE, Verilog, System C, and any other programming language you encounter
• Ability to guide research by proving analytical bounds
• Comfort with physics including statistical physics and semiconductor device physics
• Careful attention to mathematical detail and precision
• High level of creativity
• Aggressive pursuit of research results
• Impeccable written and verbal communications skills
• You have physical intuition gained by having directly built or repaired things

Desired Competencies

• Experience in industrial research environment or working in a start-up environment
• US citizenship or Visa
